Micah is in his second of four weeks in SOPC. In SOPC, Micah is preparing for the selection course/process for Special Forces, which has included long ruck marches with at least 60lb on his back through the countryside (sometimes other guys on his back too...up and down hills!), rucking, running, and bear crawling through creeks, lots of sit-ups, push-ups, and anything that kills your muscles for long extended periods of time! Sometimes it blows my mind why he chooses to do this but I know he loves being a soldier, he loves his family, he loves his country, and he loves Jesus-who called him to do this-so, Micah presses on! Also, Micah has been doing classroom stuff like learning about feet and boot care, learning the history of Special Forces, and learning what they can and cannot eat in the wilderness, to name a few.
We both are getting anxious to see this time of training come to an end, see him selected into Special Forces (SF), see him start training as a SF medic, and mostly see us down there with him in North Carolina!
Speaking of medic...Micah has done very well on his written testings as well as physical testings to become on the hardest jobs in the entire military (if you'd ask me!)...Special Forces Medic. Micah wants to become a medic and his SF drill Sergeant told him he definitely qualifies and will be trained to become one, even if he didn't have the desire to become one! Good thing he wants to! I thank God for all the favor, strength, grace, and endurance that He's poured and poured over Micah. God, you rock! Micah, you rock!
